00:00 Okay, in today’s video we want to find out does Pro Granola from Julian Bakery knock us out of Ketosis. This is one of my favorite foods. And I’ll still eat it by the way. And I wanted to find out, does it knock me out of Ketosis?
00:22 It has 12 grams of protein per serving, and total carbohydrates is 17. I am going to use my Keto Mojo blood meter. This is what I use to test for ketones. And we’re going to check my level right now. I’m just going to poke my finger. I’m doing that under the table for any of you guys that are squirly with blood.
Checking the blood meter now. It’s no big deal. The whole pricking of the finger thing. Blood ketone level is 3.8. Alright, so now, three point eight is fantastic. I’ve been fasting I was a four point something last night, late yesterday after fasting. I have not eaten anything today, so we’re going to go ahead and I’m going to try the Granola.
01:44 I’m going to go ahead and do half a cup. I’ll do the suggested serving size. We’ll see what it does to us. So I’m going to eat this and we’re gonna come back and check this and about 40 minutes and at 90 minutes. We’ll do a couple of them just to double check and I will be back with you shortly.
Okay. Quick moment of truth. It has been 45 minutes. Let me go ahead and do the finger prick real quick.
02:34 No big deal. Alright, so we’re gonna look and see what half a cup of Julianne’s bakery Granola does to my ketone level.
Now, whenever you eat your carbs, your ketones will often drop afterwards. This is very normal to actually drop after eating, although you should still be in Ketosis, which means a level point five up to three, four, five, wherever you’re normally resting. I’m usually at about a good one and a half on most days and I go up to a high 4 when I’m fasting. Alright guys, ketone level 3.3 – ketone level three, point three.
03:25 Barely moved and what that tells me is that Julian’s bakery Pro Granla, Well at least that flavor, I does not knock me out of Ketosis. I’m still in Ketosis. It’s perfectly fine.
So I would recommend the Julian’s bakery pro Granola, half cup serving. And by the way, for those of you that might be wondering, I will put a link in this video to the Keto Mojo ketone monitor. It’s also glucose monitor and I I was going to do the glucose at the same time, but I need to dig my strip and glucose strips out. So let’s just check it one more time because it’s been 90 minutes. So let’s see if there has been any fluctuation in my ketone levels.
My ketone levels are 4.4, four point four. So not only did I stay in ketosis an hour later, I’m right back up to where I typically would be in a on a fasting afternoon. So I’m a fan. Go get yourself some granola. They key to this is sticking to the suggested serving. I think I got, have gotten myself in trouble in the past by overeating it. So when I tested I measured out exactly half a cup and I used almond milk with it. And I am pleased with this.

This is just gonna be way too much to process. At first I did not get into this until months after I was on Keto. 06:16 You have to move to a blood meter. That’s what this is. Now I have, I also got a, a breath analyzer and in the breakfast met measuring the acetone and in the blood and measuring the, I’m not going to say it wrong, so I’m not going to bother. Some of those are wrong anyway. Uh, so they’re different.
Each one is different than how they get measured. So I personally have taken to the blood meter and I will test whenever I stray, like I go on vacation and maybe like walk Quito and I come back on. I’m all tests and all test whenever I’m eating a new food.
And I tested a lot in the beginning, just so that I knew when my ketones were the highest in. The higher the level of ketones you have does not mean you’re burning more fat. At a four point four, I’m, I’ve probably got good energy.
My mental clarity is good, my energy’s good, but it doesn’t necessarily mean I’m burning more fat. It just means that I am burning fat, so I’m not upset if I have a key to level the point five, or if I have a ketone level of four point four, I’m still burning fat similarly.
